Designing your Big Shed? Let’s start from the top, literally.
More than a design choice, your shed roof plays a huge role when it comes to water run-off, internal clearance, airflow, and how well it suits your property. We don’t want to overcomplicate things and offer two solid options: the classic Gable and the sleek Skillion.
Let’s go over them and see which one is a better fit for your Big Shed.
The Classic Gable
When you think of a shed, I bet the first thing that comes to mind is one that has a Gable Roof. It’s what most of us picture: two sloping sides that meet in the middle, forming a peak.
Water runs off both sides, so there’s no question about the excellent drainage.
It's awesome for stacking high, room for a mezzanine, or simply more headroom.
The Skillion Roof
Skillion offers a modern and minimalistic look. Everybody’s all about minimalism these days, and emerging trends make the Skillion an easy choice.
All rainwater drains in one direction. Makes it easy to place gutters, just make sure they aren’t aimed at your neighbours.
Fewer parts and panels mean a simple build and it’s fantastic for building close to existing structures.
Still unsure? Give us a shout.
