Store Smart
Your Big Shed is up and you’re keen to start filling it.
If you’re storing fertiliser, fuel, or other chemicals, it’s best to keep them sealed in tight containers and kept at least 300mm away from the walls. Those substances can vent corrosive fumes and can weaken steel of any kind over time.
Vermin Proof-It
The last thing you want is rats and mice chewing into your storage and machinery. Use vermin-proofing around the base of your Big Shed to stop rodents from moving in. Keeping the area around your Big Shed clear and tidy also helps reduce hiding spots and nesting areas.
Give It a Good Wash
Just like your car, your Big Shed could use the occasional wash to remove dirt, grime, and anything harmful from building up on the surface.
Use town water, not bore water, as it contains minerals that can spoil the coating and paint finish. Hose it down, use a bucket, and a sponge with soapy water to get rid of stubborn dirt.
Avoid using cleaning products that have strong chemicals or corrosive ingredients.
