Whether you’re chilling in your man cave or putting in the work in a three-car garage, here are some choice tips to help your Big Shed look pristine and new for years.
Give It a Good Wash
Just like your car or your fence, your Big Shed could use the occasional wash to remove dirt, grime, and corrosive particles from the surface. We recommend washing it down at least twice a year.
Use town water, not bore water or spring water as those contain minerals that can spoil the coating and paint finish.
Keep Dirt Away from the Walls
It might seem harmless, but backfilling soil or garden mix against your shed walls is a big no-no. Doing so traps moisture against the steel panels, speeding up corrosion. At worst, it could void your Big Shed’s warranty and leave a nasty stain or hole.
Store Chemicals Safely
If you’re storing fertiliser, fuel, or other chemicals, it’s best to keep them sealed in tight containers and kept at least 300mm away from the walls. These substances can vent corrosive fumes and can weaken steel of any kind over time.
Vermin-Proof It
Pets are great, but pests – not so much or at all. Don’t let your hard work go to waste by letting pesky pests run the place. Use vermin-proofing around the base of your Big Shed to stop rodents and other critters from moving in. Keeping the area around your Big Shed clear and tidy also helps reduce hiding spots and nesting areas.
